Making Maps in Qoole for Quantum Axcess's Malice
------------------------------------------------

by Matt Lee (mattlee@mit.edu)

This developer kit is an enhanced version of the original kit released by Quantum Axcess/Epochalypse. The only files I am providing are this document, malice.ent, malice.lmp, and maltest1.qle. The rest are not mine, and all rights belong to the respective owners.

Setting Up Qoole
----------------

Put the malice.ent and malice.lmp files into your Qoole directory. Edit your qoole.cfg file, placing a line in the [strings] section reading:

palette = malice

Rename your qoole.tex file to quake.tex.

Go into Qoole, and go to Options|Entity Set. Choose "Select .ENT file" and select malice.ent.

The go to Texture|Add Wad... and select malice.wad (it doesn't have to be in your qoole directory). You can then add other texture wads, keeping in mind that some textures may look funny (Malice uses a different palette).

You'll not have all of the Malice files into Qoole, and you can start making maps. The settings will stay between sessions of Qoole.

Don't forget to add "-game malice" to the end of your Quake executable setting in the File|Export BSP dialog box.

Making Maps
-----------

There's not many differences between normal maps and Malice maps. There's just new things to be placed around the maps. The sample map maltest1.qle is a small, crappy example of design (including a rain generator and a nice looking ventilation duct).

If you find any bugs in the entity set, please email me at mattlee@mit.edu.
